What is whiplash?
Whiplash is a neck injury caused by a sudden movement of the head. A traffic collision can cause neck pain, stiffness, headaches, or soreness around the shoulders and arms. Symptoms may take several hours to appear.
These symptoms do not confirm a diagnosis on their own. Tell a healthcare professional about the collision and any new or worsening symptoms. More about whiplash from the NHS (opens a new tab)↗
What Dr. Moore will discuss with you
- When the accident happened and when symptoms began
- Neck movement, pain location, and any headaches
- Arm symptoms, previous injuries, and your medical history
- How symptoms affect work, sleep, driving, and everyday activities
Care begins with an examination
At Moore Chiropractic Accident & Injury Clinic, your evaluation may include range-of-motion, orthopedic, and neurologic testing as clinically appropriate. Dr. Moore explains the findings and whether chiropractic treatment, imaging, or a referral is recommended.
Treatment recommendations depend on your examination, health history, and goals. We do not assume every neck injury needs an adjustment or promise a particular recovery time.
